Southwell – groping with the menace of graffiti |

Southwell has of late been witnessing growing instances of vandalism. This issue was taken up by the town’s Safer Neighbourhood Group chairman Mr. Peter Harris, who opined that War Memorial Recreation Ground and the area around the former Church Street site of the Minster School had to bear the brunt of graffiti the most. The community expressed its concerns on the growing instances of graffiti on private buildings. Cleaning- up operations are not just costly but also could be damaging to the brick structure of the old buildings in the locality as many a time strong chemicals and metal brushes are involved in the cleaning up operations.
